Invented in 1921 by the Swiss psychologist Hermann Rorschach, the Rorschach test is an exercise in interpretation and the psychological basis of human perception. There are no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ answers to an inkblot test because of the interpretive nature of the method. The same piece of art can represent different things to people because the way they see the world is shaped by their own personal experiences and thought processes. It’s believed that an analysis of these differences could tease out the secrets of the brain and how the mind works.
This modern minimalist style of abstract art juxtaposes the eccentricity of ink blots with the understated black and white color tones. It makes a great addition to your home, offering its youthful spirit and a simple understated elegance to any style of décor. Create a stunning diptych with its companion piece Rorschach #2, whether you hand them side by side or display them flanking a doorway or piece of furniture.
Note: As our prints and frames are custom made to order, according to your specifications, all our limited-edition art prints (framed or unframed) are final sale and non-returnable.
