Invented in the early 20th century, the linocut is a technique of casting elaborate prints on a fabric, using intricately cut pieces of linoleum that are rolled in ink and impressed onto paper or fabric. Linoleum doesn’t have grain or split as easily as wood, allowing for much finer details to be carved out of a lino print, creating a rich image. This image of a blue crab, drawn in the style of a linocut, was created with a fine line pen to achieve that unique effect, the dun background creating a moody contrast typical of lino prints.
Note: As our prints and frames are custom made to order, according to your specifications, all our limited-edition art prints (framed or unframed) are final sale and non-returnable.
