The Pesquet’s Parrot is often called the Dracula Parrot for the sinister jet-black and striking red of its plumage, which resemble the vampire’s cloak. Despite its uniquely vulturine features, Pesquet’s Parrot is an extremely selective frugivore, consuming a diet almost exclusively comprised of figs. These special birds are found mostly in hill and montane forests in New Guinea.
