Description
The Roseate Spoonbill is a wading bird found all over the Americas, from the wetlands of Brazil, to the Caribbean, to the mangroves of Florida. Their specially shaped bills are suited to their watery environment, dredging shallow waters for crustaceans, fish and frogs. They get their rosy pink colour from the pigments in the shrimp they eat, just like their cousins, the flamingos.
