Once the sun had gone down, the lounge began to fill with people. The same ones as the day before, and the day before that. As the hours roll on by, the air grows thicker, hazier with the smoke trailing from the ends of cigars and cigarettes. But every head in the room turns when they hear the door open again. A man and woman step inside. Not regulars, by the attention they’re drawing from the other patrons. Two more puffs of smoke added to the mix, and they saunter over to the bar. The barkeep’s first new order in years. “What will it be?”
