Description
Even though geometric patterns were an important part of our art for millennia, they were always an embellishment, an ancillary to the main artwork itself. After so long spent in the background, the 20th century saw this style come to the fore. No longer was geometry a decoration, but the entire piece itself. Shapes could exist for their own sake, for no reason at all other than they were precise and beautiful. And so a new age of art was born.
