Description
The Bonobo, also sometimes called the Pygmy or Dwarf Chimpanzee, is a resident of the tropical forests in the Congo Basin in Africa. Along with the common chimpanzee, the Bonobo is the closest relative to humans still alive on Earth today. The name ‘Bonobo’ seems to be derived from a misspelling of the town called Bolobo from where the first Bonobo specimens were collected in the 1920s.
