Description
Vintage matchboxes have a sense of pride to them, an irreverent branding style that set each design apart from the rest. They were bold, had beautiful illustrations, and exuded character that their users would come to identify with, and every man had a brand that he stayed loyal to all his life. They often featured images of animals, as in this one, where the mascot is a traditionally decorated Indian bull, a symbol of power, manhood and hard, back-breaking work that defined the lives of so many men in those days.
