    Product Details

Somanathapura distills the soaring vimana of the 13th-century Chennakesava Temple into a chiaroscuro study of stone, shadow and silent devotion. Subtle sepia and sandstone tones evoke lamp-lit evenings in Karnataka, when the temple’s carved tiers glow like embers against the night sky.

The image is first printed with archival pigments on plush velour, a fabric whose short, dense pile lends the façade an almost tactile depth. Our artisans then stretch the panel over a hidden pine support and float-frame it in black-stained solid wood with discreet acrylic glazing—so the sculptural layers read crisp from every angle.

Whether you’re curating a hallway of travel mementos or anchoring a minimalist living room, this 24-inch square invites viewers to linger on India’s storied craft traditions—no plane ticket required.

    Product Dimensions: 24” × 24”

    What’s Included

    • Ready-to-hang framed textile artwork

    • Archival velour print, canvas-wrapped backing

    • Pre-mounted hanging hardware

    • Secure, gift-ready corrugated box

Note: Since every Underlyn product is an original work of art that’s handmade, subtle variations may occur in color and /or craftsmanship. This is what makes our products truly one-of-a-kind.

    Care Details

    - The safest way to remove loose dust and dirt is by carefully using a lint roller or a soft brush on the textile.
    - Vacuuming can also be done using a nozzle covered with muslin or stocking, held on with an elastic band.
    - Keep away from excessive moisture and humidity. Do not display it in cold and damp areas.
    - Remember to occasionally dust off the back of the frame to prevent dust particles from harming the artwork.
    - Do not pull any loose ends. Clip them with scissors.

    Stylist's Notes

    • The Conversation Starter

    • The Quiet Alcove

Mount Somanathapura above a charcoal or slate-grey sofa so the velour’s warm sepia tones glow against the cool upholstery. Keep cushions understated—think ivory slub linen or tonal stripes—while a single matte-black swing-arm lamp echoes the temple’s vertical rhythm. A low teak or oak coffee table grounds the scene; add one sculptural planter for a shot of greenery, and let the architecture on the wall do the storytelling.

In a recessed niche or entryway, centre the piece over a slim walnut sideboard to create a gallery-like shrine to craftsmanship. Soft plaster walls and daylight filtering through a nearby slit window emphasise the chiaroscuro of the temple spire. Arrange unglazed ceramic bowls and pillar candles in muted sand and ochre along the console—tones that mirror weathered stone without competing for attention. The result is a meditative tableau that greets guests with quiet grandeur.
