Product Details
A devotional icon, distilled. Jagannath’s wide, benevolent gaze floats on an inky field—graphic, joyful and instantly recognisable. The crisp geometry reads contemporary while holding deep cultural memory, making it as at home in a pooja nook as it is above a modern console.
Worked entirely by hand on black raw silk, the face is rendered in lustrous silk thread with fine zardozi work (French-purl wire and metallic accents) for the tilak and ornaments. Stitches such as satin, couching and chain build the clean lines and soft gleam. It’s set in a solid teak wood frame and protected with acrylic glazing—your framed embroidered wall art arrives ready to hang.
Product Dimensions: 19.5” × 19.5”
What’s Included:
• Ready-to-hang framed embroidered wall art
• Handcrafted solid teak wood frame
• Acrylic glazing
• Raw silk front with cotton backing
• Hanging hardware
• Secure, corrugated packaging
Note: Since every Underlyn product is an original work of art that’s handmade, subtle variations may occur in colour and/or craftsmanship. This is what makes our products truly one-of-a-kind.

Stylist's Notes

Modern Mandir Mood for the Living Room
-
Graphic Devotion for the Foyer
Centre “Jagannath” over a sideboard and build an earthy palette around it: pale walls, cane or oak, a jute rug. Layer a couple of matte ceramic vessels and a single leafy branch for height; avoid clutter so the bold eyes and smile stay the quiet focal point. A soft pool of light—a linen-shade lamp or a wall washer—will catch the texture of the embroidery and turn evening puja into a beautifully contemporary moment.
Hang “Jagannath” above a slim console and let the inky silk ground act like a calm, modern altar. Keep the surface spare—one sculptural vase with dried stems, a small brass diya or incense holder, and a tray to corral keys. The warm teak frame softens the black, so neutrals (linen runner, stone bowl) feel elevated rather than plain. If you own our “Ganesha’s Grace”, hang it alongside for a serene, two-piece dialogue of form and blessing.
